Religiogender is a subtype of Aesthetigender. This subtype encompasses all genders that have ties to religion (Judeo-Christian or otherwise). You can say a lot of things about MOGAI, but they sure do know how to skim the works of a lot of major religions! I think we have representatives from all of them (minus Islam).

History of the term

Religiogender was coined by MOGAI-Watch to categorize religion-based MOGAI genders. A similar term, Religender, was coined by Xeno-Aligned on June 17, 2018. It is defined as "a gender that has a connection to another gender’s energy due to spirituality."1 The flag was created on October 6, 2019 by tumblr user mogai-moth at the request of anonymous. They define it as "gender categories for genders connected to one’s religion/spirituality," but do not credit MOGAI-Watch, not that MOGAI-Watch is all that fussed about it.2

The colors of the flag don’t mean anything, but are witch-like colors. The magic circle is to represent the magical aspect of it.

Witchgender is a religiogender (or Magusgender, Magegender, or Venefigender) was originally defined as "a gender that has a closeness or connection to witchcraft and magic. It is, in a way, a magic gender. You could use it to perform strange gender magic. Or something. It is also associated with a feminine or androgynous gender expression.
Witchgender’s names come from the following things: witchgender, coming from the word “witch”; magusgender, coming from the Latin word “magus”, meaning “magic”; magegender, coming from the word “mage”, another word for “magician”; and venefigender, coming from the Latin word “venefica”, meaning witch.
Not to be confused with Genderwitched or Magigender."1

A later re-coining of the term defines it as "your identity of a witch is strongly tied to your gender identity."2

I’m the witchiest effing tumblr witch
that ever cast a spell,
just to drive that concept home,
straight from MOGAI hell

I summoned up a gender
for my witchy feelings:

I hang transmeds from my ceiling.
